Becoming light-footed

Stress – for most of us this does not sound positive. It sounds like hectic, tension and pain in the back, head or neck. We cannot banish stress from our lives. But we can learn to get rid of it efficiently. In my movement coaching I will show you how to interrupt your personal patterns.

Learn how to deal with stress and find serenity

Instead of always reacting in the same way to stressful situations, you learn with me to pause purposefully with body and mind. My holistic movement coaching according to the Alexander Technique does not regard body and mind as independent departments, but sees your complete “self” as a unit. You will soon notice that serenity is achieved when you move in a physiologically sensible and light-footed way. You will gain poise in an holisitc way. This will also be appreciated by your counterpart – the next professional presentation will benefit from it, and so will your after-work exercise.

If you are wondering exactly how all this feels, you can try this little exercise. Of course, it won’t show you the full extent of my work, but you’ll get a little taste of it.

This is how you can integrate mindfulness into your day

Walk a few steps through the room and think “I’ll be right there” with every step. If you have done this a few times, go on and now say to yourself with every step ” I have just been there”. Observe how it feels and how your walking changes.

As a third variation, tell yourself at each step ” I am right here now”. How does this compare to the first two versions? Do all three again and pay special attention to your speed and how much of your surroundings you notice.

The way we move from A to B or from one task to the next has a big impact on how we do it and how we feel about it.
You can always integrate the “I am right here now” option into your day. This allows you to take a short break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, both physically and mentally.
